Scheduling
Welcome and thank you for choosing Banner Thunderbird Surgicenter. This facility has been in operation since 1993. We still have some of our early employees. Patients love our facility and nursing staff as evidenced by the comments in the Patient Satisfaction Surveys. The difference is that our nurses are happy and do a great job, which leads to happy doctors and patients.
Our nurses are all Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) and equipped to handle emergencies that arise. Some of our PreOp and PACU nurses are Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certified (PALS) as well.
The Surgery Scheduling Department is here to accommodate you in scheduling cases in a timely manner. Office hours are from 8am until 4pm. For your convenience we can be reached 5 days a week at our direct scheduling line: 602-865-5466, or by fax for a schedule request at 602-865-5472.
To schedule a surgical procedure, please call the surgery scheduler and share any pertinent patient information pertaining to the case. The scheduler will review your patient information, establish schedule availability, and schedule your case. We also arrange Anesthesia coverage for you as well.
Please report any scheduling changes or cases cancelled to the Surgery Scheduler.
Please ask your patient’s requiring general anesthesia or conscious sedation to arrive 1½ hours before their scheduled surgery time.
Please notify the Surgery Scheduler if your patient has a latex allergy or history of malignant hyperthermia.
Please ask your patients to remove any body piercing before surgery.
Patients must be NPO or have nothing by mouth for 8 hours prior to surgery unless otherwise instructed by the anesthesiologist.
Please fax guardianship papers, cardiac clearance documents, and lab results to the PreOp Department at 602-865-5472 prior to surgery.
Please ask your patients to arrange for a responsible adult to take them home. Patients that have had general anesthesia should have someone to assist them at home for the first day at least.
