401(k) Investment Options
You can choose your own investments Investing for retirement with the 401(k) plan allows you to make your own investment choices. To make your investment selection easier, you may want to consider which of the three approaches to investing described below may work best for you. The approaches vary and are targeted to the level of involvement you want in managing your investment mix, that is, choosing your investments and monitoring them over time. Remember, any of the investment options described are available to you at any time. You are not restricted to investing within a certain level. Prior to investing in any fund, please request a prospectus from Fidelity.
Level 1: ready-mix With this approach, the portfolio manager determines and maintains the mix of stock, bonds, and short-term investments. There are several ready-mix investment choices available to you in the Fidelity Freedom Fund family. You may want to consider a Fidelity Freedom Fund if you understand the importance of asset allocation and diversification, but you feel more comfortable having a professional portfolio manager managing your asset allocation. The available funds under Level 1 are the following Freedom Funds:
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2040
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2035
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2030
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2025
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2020
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2015
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2010
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2005
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2000
- Fidelity Freedom Income Fund
The Fidelity Freedom Funds invest in other Fidelity mutual funds to provide moderate asset allocation. The allocation strategy among the underlying stock, bond, and money market funds that compose each Freedom Fund with a target retirement date is based on the numbers of years until that date and will become more conservative as that date nears.
Level 2: core investment options With this approach, you determine and maintain the mix of investments. An outside investment consultant and Banner's Retirement Plans Investment Committee monitor the core investment funds. These options represent the three major asset classes (stocks, bonds, and short-term investments) and can be sufficient for creating a diversified portfolio. You may wish to consider these options if you are comfortable managing your own asset allocation. The core investment options are:
- Fidelity Managed Income Portfolio II (Stable Value Fund)
- PIMCO Total Return Fund (Income Bond Fund)
- Fidelity Balanced Fund (Growth & Income Fund)
- Fidelity Equity-Income Fund (Large Cap Value Stock Fund)
- Fidelity's Spartan U.S. Equity Index Advantage Fund (Growth & Income Stock Fund)
- Marsico Focus Fund (Large Cap Stock Fund)
- FMI Common Stock Fund (Mid Cap Blend Stock Fund)
- American Funds: EuroPacific Growth Fund (International Stock Fund
- UM Behavioral Growth Fund (Small-Mid Cap Growth Stock Fund)
Information about these options is available on the Fidelity website
Level 3: expanded investment options With this approach, you determine and maintain the mix of investments but you are choosing from a substantially larger selection of investment options representing a variety of investment styles available through Fidelity Investments and more than 25 other investment companies. You may want to consider this approach if you are very comfortable managing your own mix of investment options and understand how to research, evaluate, and then monitor a wide variety of investments with different risk and return characteristics.
Fidelity Funds and Fundsnet Funds
Short-Term Money market mutual funds strive to preserve investment principal by investing in short-term securities but are not insured or guaranteed by the FDIC or any other government agency. Because the price of each share tends to stay at $1.00, investors often use money market funds to temporarily hold money to be invested later. Yield will vary.

Income Income funds strive to achieve a high level of income and safety by investing in a combination of corporate and government bonds. The longer the term of the bonds in the fund and the lower the credit quality of the bonds, the riskier they tend to be, so they offer a potentially higher yield to try to offset the risk. In contrast, short-term bond funds offer potentially less risk but may not offer the same rate of return. Share price will fluctuate less than a stock fund. Share price, yield, and return will vary, and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.

Balanced Balanced funds strive to provide income and capital growth consistent with reasonable risk by investing in a broadly diversified portfolio of high-yielding securities such as common stocks, preferred stocks, and bonds to balance the risk of investing exclusively in either stocks or bonds. The goal of balanced funds is to blend long-term growth from stocks with income from dividends. Because a balanced fund must have at least one-fourth of its money invested in bonds and other debt obligations, its price usually will not vary as much as that of a growth fund. Share price and return will vary, and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.

These risks include political and economic uncertainties of foreign countries, and currency fluctuations.
Growth & Income Growth and income funds strive to pursue long-term growth and regular dividend income. Some growth and income funds are weighted more heavily towards growth, others towards income. These funds typically invest a portion of their assets in dividend-paying stocks or bonds in an attempt to generate income to moderate the effects of price fluctuations. While this type of fund is primarily dependent on the performance of the stock markets, these funds generally offer lower risk than growth funds. Share price and return will vary, and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.

Growth Growth funds strive to pursue capital appreciation over the long term. Some growth funds are broad-based, meaning that they have a wide range of stocks and industries in which they can invest. Others have a narrower focus, for example, they may invest in a particular type of stock such as small-cap or cyclical stocks, or use a specialized approach to stock selection such as investing only in stocks that are currently underpriced. These funds try to make money from increases in the prices of stocks that they hold rather than from dividends. Growth funds are more volatile than income (bond) or money market funds and generally reflect changes in market conditions and other company, political, and economic news. Share price and return will vary, and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.

Sector Sector funds are non-diversified funds that normally invest at least 80% of their assets in equity securities of companies from or related to the specific industry or sector named by each portfolio. Each of the sector funds typically invests in securities of companies within any of the industries covered by that sector, while each of the industry funds focuses primarily on equity securities of companies in, or related to, the named industry. For example, the sector fund Select Health Care Portfolio may invest in securities of companies in or related to the biotechnology, medical delivery, health care, and medical equipment and systems sectors, while the industry fund, Select Biotechnology Portfolio, will invest primarily in securities related to the biotechnology sector. Focused investments in a Select Equity Portfolio can complement the growth investments of an already well-diversified retirement plan portfolio. However, these funds typically exhibit higher share price fluctuation than broadly diversified mutual funds and the stock market as a whole. Investors in these funds should have a high tolerance for risk and be prepared to accept large swings in fund performance. Investors also need to understand and be prepared to continuously monitor the targeted sector or industry. The fund may invest in securities of domestic and foreign issuers. Select Equity Portfolios carry a short-term trading fee, which is charged to discourage short-term buying and selling of fund shares. If you sell your shares after holding them for less than 30 days, the fund will deduct a shortterm trading fee from your account equal to 0.75% of the value of the shares you sold. You may pay a $7.50 fee for each exchange out of a Select Equity Portfolio unless you use one of Fidelity's automated exchange services. Share price and return will vary, and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.

Asset Allocation Funds Asset allocation funds seek high total returns over the long term by allocating assets among stocks, bonds, and short-term investments. Asset allocation funds generally seek long-term performance through investments in one or more asset classes; stocks, bonds, and short-term investments. Although these funds often maintain a neutral mix of assets, the portfolio manager of each fund has the flexibility to periodically shift investments among a fund's asset classes depending on the current outlook for various markets. Share price, yield, and return will vary, and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.

Life-Cycle (Fidelity Freedom Funds) The Fidelity Freedom Funds offer a blend of stocks, bonds and shortterm investments within a single fund. They are designed for investors who don't want to go through the exercise of picking several funds from the three asset classes, but who still want to diversify among stocks, bonds, and short-term investments. The Freedom Funds strive for high total return (except Freedom Income which strives for high current income and, as a secondary objective, capital appreciation) by investing in a combination of Fidelity equity, fixed-income, and money market mutual funds (underlying Fidelity funds) and allocates its assets among these funds according to an asset allocation strategy. Performance of each Freedom Fund depends on the performance of the underlying Fidelity funds in which it invests. Performance of the underlying Fidelity funds in turn depends on performance of equity, fixed-income, and money markets in the U.S. and abroad. Share price, yield and return will vary and you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares.
