I was sleeping peacefully at my home when all of a sudden I jumped out of bed and had to rush to the bathroom at 5 a.m. in the morning. I was stuck in there all day with a very sharp pain in my right side. . .
I finally gave up and called my OB doctor to find out that I needed to go to the emergency room at Banner (Banner Desert Medical Center). The staff was extremely careful with me being 12 weeks pregnant. They were sure no X-rays or any kind of radiation were done.
To get confirmation that it was my appendix I had to approve an MRI to be done. The surgeon scheduled my surgery for the following day at noon. At 11:30 that evening, I had two nice wonderful gentlemen come to my room to have my MRI done. They stated it would be approximately two hours long. Because they were such nice men they cut down my time and made me feel absolutely comfortable being in such a cold tight space.
Once I got back to my room I was immediately told by my nurse that it was my appendix and they needed to remove it as soon as possible. My surgery was moved up to 7:30 a.m. the next morning and I had it removed.
I have to commend the surgeon, transporters, MRI guys and Post OP nurses and especially my nurses Yvonne and Jeannette for making my stay wonderful. The nurses and aides who included Rose and another lady made sure to make me feel at home and like family. I felt like they really cared. I do recommend this hospital to anyone and I look forward to coming back to have my baby in six more months.
