Take a moment to share your story of healing at Banner Health with others. It's a way to inspire others and thank those medical professionals who cared for you during your visit.
I would like to thank the staff, doctors, nurses, and the physician assistant who treated me at the (North Colorado Medical Center) ER on July 13 - 14.
From the minute I checked in, I was treated with the utmost care and concern. My pain and discomfort was assessed and dealt with as soon as an exam room opened up. The lab returned results quickly.
After check out at 2 a.m., the front desk helped me call for a taxi. As a special thank you, I want you to know that a security guard at the main entrance by the name of Kathy, came to check on me when she didn't have to. I had to move my car because the ER parking lot was filled and the only place I knew where to park was in the visitor lot on the SE side.
I had to fight through the pain and walk across the parking lot to the main entrance where I showed Kathy my patient bracelet. She saw that I was a little disoriented and instead of making me walk all around the outside of the hospital, alone and in the dark at 10:30 p.m., she let me in and pointed out the direction I needed to go to find the ER again. She then had to help someone else. However, in just a few minutes, she walked all the way to the ER to make sure I had made it to where I needed to be. If not, she said she would be doing a full search of the hospital with the help of other staff members. That's dedication and compassion that goes above and beyond!
Kathy, you are the star that stood out that evening.
So, thank you, to everyone that took care of me that evening. I drive right by another hospital in my area and it takes me 80 minutes to drive from my house to NCMC. My story tells you why I do that.
