On Dec. 2, 2010, my son (2 years 10 months old) and I were going down an ice slide when we flipped.
His forehead ended up making contact with the ice creating a two-inch laceration to his forehead just above his right eyebrow. I was given a choice by the ambulance crew as to which hospital to go to, I chose Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and I was not disappointed.
Within minutes of our arrival he was completely evaluated and a course of action was determined. The staff was amazing. The doctor took the time to explain everything he was going to do, in a way that someone with no medical background would completely understand. . . The nurses were friendly and helpful. . . I was even happy with the administrative personnel who waited until my son was completely cared for and the procedure completed before they asked me to complete the needed paperwork.
We left the ER with all the information we needed for wound care and post-procedure care, and best of all we left with piece of mind. Bottom line the staff was excellent. I want to thank Dr. Tansky, Nurses: Jeannette, Sara, Leo, and Sandy, tech Emilie and the R/T whose name I'm sorry to say I don't remember.
