   George's Story

In March of 2004, I was having symptoms of a stroke and . . .  asked my parents to take me to Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix  I thought if I am having a stroke, I should be at a stroke center.

When I arrived at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix after relating my symptoms, I was immediately sent back for tests which showed I was having a stroke. I was stabilized and the cause of the stroke was found, a hole in my heart.

One month later, I had another stroke and was rushed to Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, where the next day the hole was closed. I have had two other minor cardiac events since but am doing fine now.

I just want to say that on each visit I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism that I recommend Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix to everyone.

And now to the reason I am writing this letter. I think I was spoiled when I was at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. I was treated so well with nurses coming in quite often just to ask if there was anything I needed. If I needed help bathing, going to the restroom, please hit the call button. Patients will not truly appreciate how they are treated at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix or any Banner hospital for that matter until they stay in another hospital.

Thanks to all of the staff at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix who treats every patient all the time with great respect, dignity and compassion as not all medical facilities do.
