Sandra's Story

I cannot say enough about the capable and compassionate care my mother received at your hospital (Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center).

Your staff works together in a very committed and caring way.

My mother left surgery to be admitted to ICU.After doing very well, she went to 9th floor.Unfortuantely she suffered a severe cardiac incident, moved immediately back to ICU, where two days later, due to catastrophic vascular, respiratory and cardiac failure, we lost her.

Mother's nurse on 9th floor was quick to LISTEN to the changes we observed in mother the day of her heart attack, acted quickly, got the pople most needed RIGHT THERE and got Mom on her way.

The professionals (and there were many) who had to be called on responded in a caring fashion. Vascular, pulmonary, cardiac, every specialist needed responded. Not a one hesitated to give us their time (not that they had it).

In the end, where comfort care was really the only choice left, a wonderful young woman & RN, Stephanie saw us thru the extubation and resulting end of life for my Mother. What a difficult job-but she did it well..What can I say? I loved my Mother. I think your people gave her the best. I miss her so. Thank you. All the ICU staff involved with Mothers care need to be commended.
