   Christy's Story

I received total knee replacement surgery and was hospitalized for four days at Banner Desert in Mesa AZ.

My wonderful surgeon Dr.Joseph Scoggin has been my "saint"when it comes to my orthopedic health, particularly my knee. Dr. John Goldberg has also been an "angel" caring for my infection.

Banner Desert is a fine hospital with wonderful, caring and professional staff. I feel I can speak about quality because I was once hospitalized in a facility in a large city that was a nightmare to experience.

I may not be able to name all the beautiful people who cared for me and I ask for your forgivness in advance! However I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge some of them. I was in Dept.C. Jeremy-who was so patient and caring when I came back from surgery. Kelly and Kim-who were the best as a team and were such caring professional joyful nurses. (Kelly remembered me from a previous "visit") Lada and Lisset- They helped my spirits and helped me with personal care. This is so important when you are feeling weak. Benat and Barbara-Barbara wore a plumeria that spoke of her home state of Hawaii. They were both great. Student Andrea-She "gets it". Amber- who was always checking on everybody.

I want to say a special word about my P.T. team of Chad and Breanne. They are the greatest at encouraging your progress and explaining everything about joint recovery. I actually looked foward to my therapy.

I would like to thank the anethesiologist (Anid?)and the pre-op staff for calming my signifcant fears. (I totally can only remember your kind faces.)

Also, the fact that Banner serves beautiful salads and fruits that promote healing and have private rooms that promote dignity helps to make it a great hospital.
