Maternity Care

Lindsay's Story |
|
Back in early March of 2009, I rushed myself to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Ariz. I was 30 weeks pregnant exactly and this was my third baby boy. My water broke as soon as I walked onto the sidewalk approaching the hospital doors. Within minutes I realized the fate of my son; he had already passed away. I had to make the worst phone call of my life to my husband to tell him the news and he sobbed instantly. Over the course of the next two days, the nurses who came to my room were very kind to my husband and I. Some would say that it is their job, but the ladies who took care of me were soft spoken, good listeners, and gave me much needed TLC at a time when my entire world as I knew it had been flipped upside down. Mary Terrell who broke the initial news to me, Cyndi Kennedy, and Jennifer Cable who both patiently listened to me as I tried to comprehend the tragedy that had just unfolded in my life. |
