Profile:

Dr. Munoz specializes in treating hematological malignancies or blood cancers, particularly lymphomas.

He earned his medical degree at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru. During his training, Dr. Munoz was elected the senior resident of the year and also won the Peter Cogan teaching award among other accolades. Dr. Munoz completed his residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at Henry Ford Health System in Michigan before completing an investigational cancer therapeutics fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

He is triple board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology and has published in the major nationally and internationally renowned journals within his field as Blood, the American Journal of Hematology, Nature Reviews and JAMA. Dr. Munoz is an expert treating patients with lymphoma and envisions precision targeted medicine to ultimately help our patients achieve a cure. Dr. Javier Munoz has also been appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma, Division of Cancer Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Munoz's personal goal and strong interest is drug development of non-chemotherapy targeted agents via novel clinical trials.
