The American Cancer Society has launched its Patient Navigator Program at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.

This is the American Cancer Society's first site in Arizona to assist individual cancer patients in negotiating their health care.

Five Arizona hospitals to offer free stroke checks 

Every 45 seconds, someone in America has a stroke. Every three minutes, someone dies of one. The best way to prevent a stroke is to know and understand your risk factors and make healthy lifestyle changes.

During May’s National Stroke Awareness Month, Phoenix metro area residents can visit several Valley hospitals to receive free stroke checks.

Banner Health to launch two new medical campuses

Banner Health is moving to meet the need for more hospital beds in the Phoenix area.

It plans to begin construction mid-first quarter 2008 of Banner Ironwood Medical Center in the Southeast Valley. 

Banner also has purchased 60 acres of land in the West Valley’s planned community of Verrado with plans to turn it into a medical campus as growth warrants.
