Surgery Section Chief named for Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center
Judith K. Wolf, MD, has been named Surgery Section Chief for Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center.
"Dr. Wolf is well respected nationally for her work in gynecologic cancer treatment and research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston," said Edgardo Rivera, MD, medical director for Banner MD Anderson. "Her significant experience will allow us to offer the most advanced treatment options to Arizona women facing a diagnosis of gynecologic cancer."
Wolf will provide leadership and medical guidance for the surgery program at the cancer center. She will begin her new role in June.
Wolf is currently a professor in the department of gynecologic oncology in the Blanton Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, as well as associate director for developmental therapeutics and medical director for community relations in the department of gynecologic oncology. She is a graduate faculty member at The University of Texas Houston Health Science Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Wolf has held numerous academic and administrative appointments at MD Anderson over the last eight years, and has served as the principal investigator for a multitude of research grants and protocols related to gynecologic cancers.
Wolf received her medical degree at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and masters in biomedical sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and fellowships in gynecologic surgery at University of Minnesota and MD Anderson. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a special qualification in gynecologic oncology.
