Chest pain can come as pressure, squeezing, fullness or heaviness in the center of the chest and it is important to let a medical expert determine if you are having a heart attack. The faster a specialist can unblock arteries and restore circulation to the heart, the greater your chances for a full recovery.

If you experience chest pain or other symptoms of a heart attack, call 9-1-1.
Through our Cardiac Alert program, your care starts the minute EMS paramedics arrive. Key health information is transmitted and treatment is begun under the guidance of Banner experts who await your arrival and move you quickly to the next phase of treatment.
Chest pain patients who come in through the Emergency department benefit from our Rapid Evaluation Unit. This special treatment area provides emergency heart patients with timely observation and evaluation by heart specialists.
Banner Heart has also partnered with Banner Baywood Medical Center and EMS paramedics to provide life-saving therapeutic hypothermia treatment for those who have heart attacks outside of the hospital. We have been so successful with this that we are teaching it across the country.
Banner Baywood Medical Center, located next to Banner Heart, is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and is state certified as a Cardiac Arrest Center due to the joint emergency treatment options each facility offers.
