Know your Heart by Heart
Learn about new advances in the treatment of heart disease at the Know your Heart by Heart event brought to you by Banner Health in conjunction with the Scottsdale Interventional Forum 2014. Cardiology medical experts will perform a live case from the heart catheterization lab at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center followed by presentations about new treatments for heart valve abnormalities and complex coronary disease. The event will end with a physician panel discussion allowing a Q & A session with leading cardiac physicians. Have your questions answered. Enjoy light refreshments. Visit our education displays and learn your heart’s age by taking the Heart Age Test.

- Free Heart Healthy Eating class
Banner Heart Hospital offers a free "heart healthy eating" class from 11 a.m. to noon the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Fourth Floor lobby. Anyone from the community is invited to attend. For information, call (480) 854-5401.
- “Living Well with Heart Failure” class
Heart failure patients are invited to attend a series of eight classes designed to help them to better understand and deal with heart failure. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Banner Heart Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, 6750 E. Baywood Ave.
Topics include heart failure and how the heart works; causes of heart failure; nutrition, and sodium and fluid restrictions; treatments; symptoms; exercise; and living with a chronic condition.
Cost is $60 for the series or $7.50 per class. Patients will need a referral from their physician. For more information or to get a referral form to take to your physicians, call (480) 854-5045.
