Rebecca Kuhn, FACHE

Executive Vice President, Community Delivery

kuhn_beckyBecky Kuhn was appointed executive vice president of Community Delivery for Banner Health in 2015. In this role, she is responsible for oversight of community hospitals, medical centers and operating units including Banner Medical Group, Banner Home Care and Banner Hospice. She also leads delivery integration efforts, operating efficiency and building customer loyalty.

Prior to assuming the role of executive vice president, she served the president of the Arizona East Region for Banner Health, with responsibility for eight acute care and specialty hospitals in the East Valley.  She also served as the CEO of Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Arizona, a 400-bed facility with a broad range of clinical services including inpatient rehab and behavioral health.

Previously, Kuhn served as CEO of Banner Gateway Medical Center, a 176-bed state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2007 in Gilbert, Ariz. While leading the operational preparation for Banner Gateway, she also served as CEO of Banner Mesa Medical Center.  

Kuhn, a native of Illinois, first moved to Arizona in 1963.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Arizona.  Kuhn is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Prior to joining Banner Health, Kuhn served as president and CEO of Paradise Valley Hospital from 1995 to 2002.  Previously, Kuhn served as senior administrator at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.  

From 1974 to 1987 she held positions in critical care as staff nurse, head nurse, educator and clinical nurse specialist in a variety of settings, including the University of California Los Angeles and the University of Arizona. From 1979 to 1990, she served on the national level of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the world’s largest specialty nursing organization, including a one-year stint as president. She has lectured nationally and internationally on health care topics and has published numerous articles.

Kuhn is currently a Board member of the East Valley Partnership. Previous affiliations include the Gilbert Education Foundation, Aid to Adoption of Special Kids, Mesa United Way, Healthcare Institute Advisory Board (The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association), Arizona Task Force on Workforce Regulation and Credentialing (Maricopa Community College District), and Corporate Recruitment Chair for the 1999 Juvenile Diabetes Association Walk to Cure Diabetes.  She has served on the Boards of Directors for the Greater Phoenix, North Phoenix, Arizona and Gilbert Chambers of Commerce. After stints in California and Colorado, Kuhn has been an East Valley resident since 1981.
