Health Psychology may be beneficial to patients experiencing psychosocial distress or who wish to work on lifestyle changes. A licensed clinical psychologist will provide both evaluation and interventions to address symptoms/behaviors of addictions, stress, anxiety, and depression as well as collaborate with other Integrative Medicine Center practitioners in the area of lifestyle behavior change (e.g., weight loss). Individuals who are at risk for cancer can also benefit from health psychology services related to health, wellness, and prevention.
There are many different types of interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindful based stress reduction practices.
