ECHO (Employees Choosing Healthy Options)

ECHO (Employees Choosing Healthy Options) is a comprehensive wellness program designed for all Banner Health employees. While on your Journey, ECHO is here to encourage and support you in maintaining a healthier lifestyle. ECHO can help you understand your individual health risks, find resources to minimize your risks and provide information that empowers you to make wise decisions about your personal wellness.

Eligibility and Enrollment

All full-time, part-time, PRN and per diem Banner Health employees are eligible for ECHO employee wellness benefits. No enrollment necessary.

Acupuncture*

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice to restore balance in the body. Common ailments include but are not limited to: pain control, allergies, headaches, depression, fatigue and/or digestion disorders.

Note: You must be 14 years or older for acupuncture. If you are younger than 18 years of age, you must be accompanied by your parent or guardian. At this time we do not provide acupuncture for patients who are pregnant.

Ergonomics

Evaluations are done to identify challenges and offer solutions to improve workstation comfort. Assessment includes: education on avoiding risks, workstation adjustments if necessary and a written report with recommendations. It is the responsibility of the requesting department to purchase any recommended equipment.

Exercise Programs*

Program include group classes, demos and education in various exercise modalities such as: Zumba, Pilates, yoga and stretch.

Skin Cancer Screenings

A health care provider performs a baseline risk assessment looking for changes in the skin, moles, or skin lesions that may increase your risk for skin cancer. Screening includes: risk factor identification, physical exam, and prevention and education information. If the provider does find suspicious areas, you will be referred to your physician or dermatologist for further evaluation.

Stress Management

Assistance with stress management is provided by our Cigna Lifestyle Management programs (available to Banner Health employees and their qualifying dependents).

Tobacco Cessation*

  • Assistance with tobacco cessation is provided by our Cigna Lifestyle Management programs (available to Banner Health employees and their qualifying dependents).
  • You may also contact your state tobacco cessation program at 1-800-784-8669 (QUIT-NOW)

Weight Management Programs

  • Assistance with weight management is provided by our Cigna Lifestyle Management programs (available to Banner Health employees and their qualifying dependents).
  • Nutrition consultations* are also available
  • Use online scheduling to make your appointment.

Wellness Challenges (available to Banner Health employees and Banner Plan members)

Exercise and nutrition challenges encouraging participants to eat healthier, hydrate properly and exercise/stretch more frequently.

Wellness Presentations

Sessions lasting 20- to 30-minutes geared toward education on a variety of health and wellness topics such as: flu prevention, workstation comfort, exercise, nutrition, diabetes, disease prevention and stress management.
