Clinical Registry Staffing Procedure

  • Includes: RNs, LPNs, CNAs, BHTs, HUCs, Pharmacists, Therapy Services (PT, OT, SLP), and Respiratory Therapists.
  • Staff may give their availability to the Placement Specialist by calling or emailing the Clinical Registry Staffing desk.
  • Shifts may be called in daily, weekly, monthly, etc. You will be booked at the facility with posted open shifts first with consideration of your facility and shift preferences. These will be considered “booked” shifts.
  • Confirmation/cancellation calls are made the day of the shift, 1 ½ to 2 hours prior to start time. For example, if you booked 7 a.m.‐7 p. m., you will receive a call between 5 and 5:30 a.m.
  • If you do not receive a call by 5:30 a.m. the day you are booked, please call the staffing office immediately to verify. Please do not assume you are cancelled if you do not receive a call.
  • If cancelled by the facility, you will be moved according to other facilities you are oriented to that have needs.

Allied Registry Staffing Procedure

  • Includes: PFS, Culinary, Clerical, EVS, Laboratory, Security, and other Allied staff.
  • Staff may give their availability to the Placement Specialist by calling the Allied Registry Staffing Desk or sending an e-mail.
  • Procedure is generally the same as for clinical registry staff;however, cancellation/confirmation calls are made at the time we hear back from the facility departments and NOT 1 1/2 to 2 hours prior to the shift start.

Traveler Staffing Procedure

  • Includes: RNs, OR Techs, Med Techs, Respiratory Therapists, Therapy Services (PT, OT, SLP), Social Workers, etc.
  • Travelers receive their schedules from their assigned facility.
  • Travelers may request approval to work extra shifts in their facility or floating to other facilities by contacting their assigned facility’s Clinical Care Operations Office (staffing office).

  • Staff may give their desired schedule to the Placement Specialist by emailing the scheduling team.
  • Shifts may be e-mailed daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
  • Cancellation calls are made the day of the shift, 1 1/2 hours prior to start time.
  • If you do not receive a cancellation call, please report to work at your scheduled time.
  • If cancelled by the facility, you will be moved accordingly to other facilities you are oriented to if they have a need.

  • You may e-mailed your schedule weekly or monthly.
  • If you need to cancel a scheduled shift, please contact the scheduling team and the manager you are reporting to on assignment.

General Staffing Information

Registry Pre‐Booked Shifts

  • Any registry employee that pre‐books or arranges a schedule with a facility themselves must also call in or e-mail their shifts to the BSS Placement Specialists. The facility may tell you that they will notify us, however it is your responsibility to do so. We do not book the shifts until they have been verified by the employee and facility.
