Home Care Experience

We believe patients recover best where they’re most comfortable. That’s why we provide Medicare and Medicaid-certified home care for patients, who need assistance as they heal, manage chronic conditions or begin new medications.

Who Could Benefit from Home Care?

Home care can provide both long-term and short-term care to patients depending on their needs. Home care can be beneficial for people who:

  • Have been diagnosed with chronic conditions, such as Parkinson’s or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Have started new medications and need help managing them
  • Have a wound that needs at-home care
  • Have a new diet restriction you or your caretaker need to learn about
  • Have had an injury or illness that has left the patient with new physical demands that require adjustment

Based on research, home care can provide patients with faster recovery and healing. A home care plan allows for greater patient focus and motivation, while maintaining independence.

What Is Skilled Home Care?

Some people may confuse skilled home care and custodial care. Custodial care provides patients with daily task assistance, such as bathing, cleaning or preparing meals.

Skilled home care is for patients who require a skilled nurse, therapist, social worker or dietitian to help them heal from injury, manage chronic conditions or begin new medication. Banner Health currently only offers skilled home care services.

Virtual Home Monitoring

For patients with chronic diseases, such as congestive heart failure and diabetes, Banner Health offers our Virtual Home Monitoring program. Our highly skilled team works with patients to help them learn to take their vitals every day and monitor health.
