Eric Reiman, MD, was named CEO of Banner Research, the umbrella organization for all research activities at Banner Health, in 2011. He also is executive director of Banner Alzheimer’s Institute.
Dr. Reiman is internationally recognized for his contributions to brain imaging research, behavioral neurosciences and the presymptomatic study of Alzheimer’s disease. He has developed a strategy to find effective treatments to prevent Alzheimer’s as quickly as possible.
In addition to his work at Banner, Dr. Reiman is clinical director of the Neurogenomics Division at Translational Genomics Research Institute, professor and associate head of psychiatry at the University of Arizona, and director of the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium, the nation’s leading model of statewide collaboration in Alzheimer’s disease research.
Dr. Reiman has authored hundreds of research publications and is the principal investigator of National Institutes of Health research grants. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
