Expanded Speech Therapy and Cochlear Implant Benefits

Starting October 1, 2025, Banner – University Family Care (B – UFC) covers speech therapy and cochlear implants for members who are 21 years of age and older.

These services were previously limited to children under Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT) services but are now covered for adults as follows:

• Speech Therapy – Now covered in outpatient settings for members aged 21 years and older
• Cochlear Implants – Available for members aged 21 and older following medical evaluation showing medical necessity.
