There is a problem with some FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors. Some of these sensors give a wrong reading. The reading may show a low blood sugar (glucose) when it is not low. This may lead to a wrong treatment decision. These decisions may pose serious health risks.
Check to see if your sensor is affected. Go to www.freestylecheck.com. Or call 1-833-815-4273. You will need your Sensor Serial Number (SN). This is on the sensor label. It is also on the carton. If you are wearing a sensor, this is in the Reader or App.
Do not use a sensor that is affected. Throw away any sensors that are expired. Use a regular blood glucose meter to make treatment decisions if the sensor reading doesn’t match how you feel or what you think your blood sugar level will be.
If your sensor is affected, you can ask for a free replacement at www.freestylecheck.com. Or the customer service staff at 1-833-815-4273 can help you. You will need to give your name and address. This is so a new sensor can be sent to you at no cost.
