If you live in one of our communities, you can take comfort knowing Banner Health offers a variety of emergency care services, from treatment of minor illnesses and injuries to urgent care and comprehensive trauma care.
Our Emergency departments feature health care providers, specialty-trained nurses and support staff who are well equipped to diagnose and treat your specific injury or illness.

The triage process helps determine the severity of the patient’s condition to assure that the most urgent patients are seen by a health care provider first. As in most hospital emergency rooms across the country, patients receive treatment based on the severity of their emergency, not the order of arrival.
Language and interpretive services are available at all Banner facilities; please ask your nurse or Emergency department receptionist about them.
Banner Thunderbird Medical Center features a separate Pediatric Emergency department that includes its own waiting area and dedicated treatment rooms. Banner Thunderbird recognizes that children are not small adults and that they require specialized care. That’s why our Pediatric Emergency department is staffed by specially trained nurses and board-certified pediatric emergency physicians.
