Health Tip: Alzheimer's Affects Sleep
(HealthDay News) -- Alzheimer's disease affects many aspects of living, including sleep.
The National Sleep Foundation says the disease can cause:
Waking in the middle of the night.
Difficulty sleeping in general. Insomnia may be an early sign of Alzheimer's, even before memory loss.
Evening confusion from lack of sleep.
Caregivers should maintain a consistent sleep schedule. If that doesn't improve sleep, consult a doctor.
