About Us

Our Banner Children's Specialists Rheumatology Clinic evaluates and treats children and adolescents under 18 years of age with various rheumatologic disorders including:

  • juvenile idiopathic arthritis
  • systemic lupus erythematosus
  • juvenile dermatomyositis
  • overlap syndrome and mixed connective tissue disease
  • vasculitis
  • periodic fever syndromes

We also treat children with a suspicion for rheumatologic presentations of infectious and neoplastic diseases and evaluate undiagnosed cases with possible rheumatologic, infectious, neoplastic, and psychiatric etiologies. The use of the new biologic medicines has revolutionized both adult and pediatric rheumatology and allows us, in most cases, to halt aggressive arthritis or eye inflammation and restore the child to normal function.
