Each child who visits Cardon Children's Medical Center will have a different recovery. Depending on the nature of your child's treatment, he or she may have to wait several days or weeks before resuming regular activities. This down time can be tough on kids and parents, but our Child Life Specialists and nursing staff can offer tips and ideas for making the recovery process go smoothly.
These tips include:
- Make sure you get your discharge instructions from hospital staff. If your child is on any medications, you will get them as you leave the hospital.
- At discharge, you will have a list of people to contact if you have any questions. Please call us with your questions.
- Even if your child doesn’t seem to be in any pain, make sure you know what to do if they start becoming uncomfortable. Ask your doctor when your child is allowed to return to normal activities.
Parents play an integral role in the healing process, and we want to make sure you have all the necessary information to help your child recover. If you have any questions about your child's treatment, medications or recovery instructions, please do not hesitate to call us at (480) 412-KIDS (5437).
