After your child comes home from Cardon Children's Medical Center, he or she may spend some time recovering at home before returning to school. This rest period is a crucial step in allowing the body to heal.
Steps to Healing
Make sure to follow all of discharge instructions you received when leaving the medical center as well as these helpful tips:
- Even after your child returns to school, he or she may need to refrain from participating in certain activities.
- Share your child's experience with their teachers, and provide the school with any medications or medical instructions they may need.
If you have any questions regarding your child's recovery process, please contact your physician.
We've created a special countdown kit to help your child with the healing process. As your child counts the days until a cast comes off or other medical restrictions are lifted, these rings can help mark the time.
