Medically necessary Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluations and devices are a covered benefit. AAC refers to a set of devices, tools and strategies that replace or augment a person’s communication, written or verbal. Evaluation for an AAC does not require prior authorization.
If you would like an AAC evaluation, please view our list of in-network providers that can evaluate members for AACs.
