For more than two decades, Banner Health has been a trusted partner in your community's health and well-being. We're proud to deepen that commitment through Banner – University Family Care, an Arizona nonprofit, locally-based Medicaid plan dedicated to serving you and your neighbors with the care you deserve.

Community isn't just part of our mission—it's woven into our identity. That's why giving back stands among our highest priorities. We don't simply live and work here; we stand alongside you as active partners in building a thriving community for all.

Reinvesting in our community.

Through our community reinvestment program, we demonstrate our commitment to giving back and creating meaningful impact.

Since 2020, Banner – University Family Care (B – UFC) has made significant strides in community support. We have funded over 200 programs and awarded over $22 million.

Each year, we carefully evaluate over 100 applications from community partners seeking funding for programs that serve our members and strengthen our communities. Awards are based on program alignment with member needs and demonstrated community impact.

Beyond Healthcare: Our Community Connection
About Us Medicaid
Empowering health and excellence.

We empower our members through events like the Wellness Academy, helping them take charge of their health. For providers, we offer enriching training programs, including our SDoH Series, to elevate the quality of care they deliver.

About Us Charity Care
Making a difference together.

As Arizona residents, we're passionate about giving back. Our team unites for impactful initiatives like Highway Clean Up, Feed My Starving Children food packing events, and donation drives that strengthen our community.

About Us Rural Hospitals
Building bridges, creating impact.

Through strong community connections, we sponsor and participate in meaningful events, from AHA's Go Red for Women to DREAM Job Fair and NAMIWalk, providing vital support and resources where they're needed most.

Bus Shelter Ad
From bus stops to better health.

Our SAFE bus stop initiative reaches Tucsonans where they are.

As a part of this initiative, we have placed ads at 10 Tucson bus stops. The idea is to provide touch points of vital health information to public transit users, promoting substance misuse awareness.

“We want to make healthcare easier and more accessible,” says JoAnne Kautzman, who is part of the Integrated System of Care team for Banner Plans & Networks.

“We’re not waiting for people to find us. We’re reaching out to make it easier for them to find services.”
