Banner Health President and COO Named to 'Top 25 Women Leaders'

Modern Healthcare lists Amy Perry among elite group

PHOENIX (Feb. 21, 2023) – Amy Perry, president and chief operating officer for Banner Health, has been named one of the nation’s 2023 Top 25 Women Leaders by Modern Healthcare, one of the country’s leading publications on health care news.

“I congratulate Amy on this recognition,” said Peter Fine, Banner’s CEO. “Her broad leadership experience and keen understanding of the dynamic changes occurring in our industry have been crucial in helping Banner navigate its recovery and stabilization post-pandemic.”

Perry joined Banner Health as president and COO in late 2021 as the industry was transitioning out of a 2-year pandemic. Perry and her colleagues have nurtured Banner’s resilient team members and reduced the significant impact of the pandemic-driven contract labor dependency over the past year.

Building on her longstanding dedication to making health care more affordable and accessible, Perry helped to establish a new physician enterprise division focused on delivering value-based priorities to further Banner’s goal of expanding care and coverage.  This included the creation a new chief access officer position.

Perry has prioritized access to care through multiple doors – both physical and digital – by helping to grow ambulatory service availability in imaging, urgent care, ambulatory surgery, physical therapy and telehealth.

"I am truly honored by this recognition and humbled to be included with such accomplished women leaders,” said Perry. “Together with Banner Health’s amazing team and innovative culture, we will continue to lead positive change, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
