GREELEY, Colo. (Sept. 23, 2021) –Brian Davidson, MD, will join Banner Medical Group on Sept. 30 as physician executive of Banner’s Western Division.
In this role, Dr. Davidson will provide leadership, vision and direction to promote excellence in patient care, practice efficiency and strong financial stewardship. This position is responsible for directing, planning and coordinating clinical activities and programs for the Western Division, which includes Banner’s Northern Colorado and rural divisions, spanning six states.
Dr. Davidson is a long-time physician and health care leader in Colorado, and a fifth-generation Coloradan. He’s served in multiple leadership roles, most recently as president of St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction. He also served as chief medical officer at St. Mary’s and in numerous leadership capacities on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
A board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Davidson completed medical school, residency and fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, as well as a surgical internship at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. He holds an MBA in Health Care Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, where he currently serves as part-time faculty in the program, teaching health care quality, safety and outcomes improvement.
Additionally, Dr. Davidson earned a graduate certificate in Health Care Quality and Safety from Regis University in Denver. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado and has remained connected with the UNC community for more than 25 years—joining the UNC Foundation board of directors this past summer. Dr. Davidson also serves on the board of Donor Alliance, the organ and tissue procurement organization providing service for Colorado and Wyoming.
