Banner Health named to the Computerworld 2026 Best Places to Work in IT

Sixth consecutive year receiving top honors from Foundry's Computerworld

PHOENIX (Dec. 19, 2025) – Banner Health has been named by Foundry’s Computerworld to its 2026 Best Places to Work in IT list as one of the top large organizations that challenge their information technology staffs while providing great benefits, engagement, and training opportunities.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Banner has received this award and is No. 34 among large organizations on the Best Places to Work in IT list.

“Our unwavering focus on engaging our team and sparking new ideas has allowed us to consistently achieve success across our network,” said Michael Reagin, executive vice president and chief technology officer for Banner. “Receiving this accolade for the sixth consecutive year validates our efforts and highlights the positive culture we’ve worked so hard to build.”

In addition to benefits and compensation, the list was complied based off of diversity initiatives, training and retention. The list was also reviewed and vetted by a panel of industry experts across several industries.

“We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where IT professionals can thrive, innovate, and create meaningful impact,” added Bryce Carder, vice president and interim chief information officer for Banner. “We’re humbled by this acknowledgment and immensely grateful for the nearly 1,400 dedicated IT team members who push boundaries and make this department a truly exceptional workplace.”

Banner IT supports a great number of stakeholders: 33 hospitals, three corporate offices, 576 locations, more than 55,000 team members, Banner’s health plan and IT operations across six states. In 2025, Banner built and deployed its own intelligent AI assistant powered by advanced language models to all team members across the organization. Called Bannerwise, it enhances employee productivity by assisting with document analysis, complex problem-solving, and daily workflow tasks in a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment. This company-wide deployment demonstrates Banner's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge AI technology to empower its workforce and improve operational efficiency.

“It’s clear that AI is having a disruptive impact on IT operations and IT talent,” says Barbara Call, global director of content strategy at Foundry. “This year’s honorees demonstrate how organizations are proactively evolving their talent strategies to fill much-needed skills gaps and reskill existing staff to be more resilient and responsive to changing needs.”

Banner IT team members reside in 41 states, representing a diverse set of communities, and 40% of the team has been with Banner Health for more than 10 years, a testament to the positive work culture cultivated.

Banner Health and other organizations are now included in coverage on Computerworld.com, along with results from the 2026 Best Places to Work in IT survey.
