Banner Health announces plans to expand OB-GYN services in Northern Colorado

Expanded team of providers will deliver comprehensive maternity and women's health care

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (April 22, 2026) – Banner Health announced plans Wednesday to expand its obstetrics and gynecology services in Northern Colorado through a strategic partnership. The initiative will grow the current team to 13 providers, with recruitment underway for additional physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners and physician assistants to strengthen and broaden women's care services in the region. The expanded operations are expected to launch this fall.

"We are committed to ensuring families in our community continue to receive exceptional maternity care close to home," said Alan Qualls, chief executive officer of Banner’s Northern Colorado hospitals. "This expansion reflects our ongoing investment in women's health services and our dedication to meeting the growing needs of the community."

The new providers will support comprehensive care across both inpatient and outpatient settings, including labor and delivery coverage and extended support for nights and weekends. This enhanced team will work alongside Banner Health's existing clinical staff, nurses and hospital leadership to deliver patient-centered, high-quality maternity care.

Banner Health’s OB/GYN services remain fully available during this interim period. Expectant mothers and women seeking OB/GYN care can continue to schedule appointments in Fort Collins and Loveland.

"Continuity for our patients and care teams is our top priority," said Qualls. "We are working diligently to ensure a seamless transition as we bring these talented new providers on board."

As part of this transition, Banner Health will collaborate with Vituity, a physician-owned multispecialty partnership, to support the evolution of the women’s health program. Vituity's role will complement Banner Health's recruitment efforts and help ensure comprehensive coverage as the expanded team is assembled.

The new providers will join Banner Health's existing team, which has delivered thousands of babies and provided comprehensive women's health services to the Northern Colorado community. Banner Health's maternity facilities feature private labor and delivery rooms, advanced medical technology and family-centered care designed to make the birthing experience as safe and comfortable as possible.

Patients with questions or those wishing to schedule an appointment in Fort Collins or Loveland should contact Banner Health Clinic at (970) 821-4500.
