GILBERT, Ariz. (June 27, 2025) – Patients receiving care and treatment for cancer at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center will find some extra comfort, thanks to a generous donation from Subaru Loves to Care, the corporate impact initiative of Subaru of America. The Subaru Superstore of Chandler on Tuesday dropped off more than 80 blankets and dozens of hand-written messages of hope to support cancer patients throughout their treatment.
“Blankets not only provide needed warmth to our patients, who often get cold during chemotherapy or immunotherapy treatments, but also bring a reminder that others in the community support them on this journey,” said Andy Petersen, president and chief executive officer of the Banner Health Foundation. “We are extremely grateful to Subaru for providing love and hope.”
Since 2016, Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society® to distribute warmth and love to those who are facing cancer. More than 51,000 cancer patients undergoing treatment received warm blankets and personalized messages nationwide in 2024.
"The courage of cancer patients is inspiring, and Subaru is honored to provide a small measure of warmth and encouragement through this donation,” said Robert Daily, general manager of the Subaru Superstore of Chandler. “We thank Banner MD Anderson for allowing us to be part of their healing journey."
