Blood Cancer

Back To Cancer Types

At Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, we treat all types of blood cancer by taking the time to create a personalized plan for each patient.

What Is Blood Cancer?

Most blood cancers start in your bone marrow. The stem cells in your bone marrow develop into blood cells. In the case of cancer, this development is interrupted by an abnormal type of blood cell.

Common signs and symptoms of blood cancer include:

  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Frequent infections
  • Weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Night sweats
  • Easy bleeding and bruising, including bleeding in the gums
  • A rash-like collection of pin-point spots on the skin called Petechiae caused by bleeding into the skin
  • Bone and joint pain
  • Shortness of breath

Our customized care programs are based on our comprehensive team approach and include the most advanced diagnostic methods and treatment options. Should you need treatment, our highly skilled physicians, nurses, and support staff are here to provide you with compassionate care throughout your cancer journey.
