TeleICU is an extra layer of care for ICU patients
Patients at many of our Banner Health hospitals benefit from an additional layer of care provided by the advanced technology called TeleICU. Our remote team of intensive care specialists partner with your bedside care team to provide you with 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week monitoring when you are in the ICU.
Most Banner Health hospitals offer Intensive Care for patients who need more monitoring.

If you are a patient at Banner Gateway Medical Center and need a higher level of care due to a severe illness or injury or following a major surgery, you may be placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The ICU has a higher staff-to-patient ratio. You will be closely monitored and treated by specially trained staff, 24 hours a day.
The staff is a team that works closely together to meet your individual needs. The team consists of:
- Respiratory therapists
- Physical therapists
- Case workers
The ICU is different from other hospital units because it features advanced equipment to provide your special care. This equipment includes:
- Intravenous (IV) tubes
- Feeding tubes
- Breathing machines
Banner Gateway Medical Center also offers TeleICU. TeleICU is staffed by critical care doctors (intensivists), acute care nurse practitioners and nurses, 24/7.
