Finding Relief for Your Foot and Ankle Pain
Often times issues of the foot and ankle can be resolved through at-home remedies such as over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications, icing, rest, elevation or compression.

Treatment Options for Foot and Ankle Problems
When you come to Banner Health with pain in your foot or ankle, we’ll work with you to create a treatment plan that’s right for your specific condition. We’ll often be able to treat your condition with conservative approaches, including physical therapy, bracing and medication.
Surgery may be an option for you if these conservative treatments aren’t enough to relieve your pain or return your flexibility. Your surgeon will share with you all options, as well as the risks and benefits of each. With this information, you and your surgeon will work together to create a customized plan for your specific condition and need. We offer several types of ankle surgery, including:
- Achilles tendon repair
- Ankle arthrodesis or ankle fusion – relieves arthritis pain in the ankle
- Ankle arthroscopy
These services and more are part of the total ankle care available at the Banner CORE Center for Orthopedics — a partnership between Banner Health and The CORE Institute.
If your injury or condition is particularly severe, you might need an ankle replacement. Our joint-replacement surgeons will help you determine if a partial or total ankle replacement is the right choice for you.
