COVID-19

COVID-19 is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It spreads primarily through droplets and small particles in the air.

There are three main ways the virus is transmitted:

  1. Close contact / droplets — when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks or breathes, droplets can reach someone nearby.
  2. Airborne particles — small particles carrying the virus can land on your eyes, nose or mouth.
  3. Touching contaminated surfaces — if your hands touch your eyes, nose or mouth after contact with virus particles, you can become infected.
