Banner Baywood Pharmacy Residency Preceptors  

Banner Boswell Medical Center has been providing excellent patient care with compassion, integrity and respect to our neighbors in the northwest area of metropolitan Phoenix since 1970. We are a nonprofit, 501-bed campus that works with more than 700 physicians to provide a full spectrum of medical services. Our supportive environment encourages family and friends to participate in the healing process. Primary specialty areas include cardiac services, neurosciences, orthopedic services, rehabilitation, and oncology services.

The Department of Pharmacy is fully automated with the use of automated dispensing cabinets and medication inventory management carousel technology. Our department provides 24-hour services, supported by over 50 full-time pharmacy personnel. We are also equipped with computerized physician order entry (CPOE) and electronic medication administration record (eMAR) through the CERNER program. With our highly functional clinical staff, we practice the decentralized pharmacy model with pharmacists located in specific nursing units to provide pharmaceutical care to patients.

Banner Estrella Pharmacy Residency Preceptors

Banner Family Pharmacy-Specialty Care, located in Chandler, Ariz., is the licensed pharmacy where specialty, home delivery, and central fill pharmacy services are conducted. This pharmacy is licensed as a retail pharmacy and can accommodate walk-in patients, though most prescriptions are mailed or delivered directly to patients. The specialty pharmacy service line has achieved URAC and ACHC accreditation.

The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm with a clinical pharmacist on-call during all evenings, weekends, and holidays. The specialty pharmacy service line is staffed with seven clinical pharmacists. The primary role of the clinical pharmacists is to conduct therapy management services and assess/verify the appropriateness of the specialty drug and supportive therapies. The pharmacy is highly automated and maintains sophisticated medication safety infrastructure.

Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix received Magnet™ accreditation from the American Nurses Association. As a major teaching hospital, we support 250 medical residents, 50 pharmacy students and 2,000 nursing students.

The Department of Pharmacy has implemented several novel clinical programs including management / monitoring in pain, solid organ transplant, anticoagulation, stress ulcer prophylaxis, and ICU sedation. Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix Pharmacy Residency Preceptors

Located in Tucson, Arizona, Banner – University Medical Center South (BUMCS) is a 245-licensed bed hospital.

BUMCS serves as a major provider of behavioral health services for the southern Arizona community. In addition to the inpatient services, it is affiliated with several multi-specialty clinics to promote continuity of care and provide outpatient services.
