PGY2 Pediatric Residency

The PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency is based in Tucson at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson and is a 12-month program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). This program is designed to prepare motivated and qualified pharmacists for advanced pediatric clinical pharmacy practice, including specialist and/or clinical faculty positions.

The program emphasizes clinical practice and consists of nine months of core (required) learning experiences in specific aspects of pediatric pharmacy and three months of elective opportunities.  Elective rotations are customized to meet the needs of the individual resident, while accomplishing the objectives for the program.  Therefore, the program will be individualized to suit the needs of the resident.

In addition to the required, elective, and longitudinal learning experiences, the resident is expected to participate in weekly clinical pharmacy conferences and in weekend clinical coverage.
