High-Risk Breast Cancer Clinic

At Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, our health care specialists are leaders in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Our High-Risk Breast Cancer Clinic is the first of its kind in Arizona and is fully dedicated to providing preventive care and coaching for individuals who are considered at high risk of developing breast cancer.

Who Does the High-Risk Breast Cancer Clinic Serve?

Those with the following risk factors for breast cancer can self-refer for an appointment at the clinic:

  • Atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH)
  • Atypical lobular hyperplasia (ALH)
  • Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS)
  • Lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS)
  • Family history of breast cancer
  • Personal diagnosis of a genetic mutation associated with breast cancer (ie. BRCA1 or BRCA2)

What Services Does the High-Risk Breast Cancer Clinic Provide?

The High-Risk Breast Cancer Clinic provides an integrative approach to preventive breast cancer screening and coaching to those with an increased risk of developing the disease. During your initial appointments, our caring team of breast cancer specialists will assess your personal health history, family history and risk factors to develop a comprehensive preventative plan tailored to your individual needs. Your doctor will discuss any preventive measures that may be recommended as part of your preventive plan to lower your risk, including clinical breast exams, mammograms, MRIs and lifestyle changes, such as diet changes and medication.

Who Makes Up the Multidisciplinary Team?

The clinic’s multidisciplinary team includes surgeons, oncologists, genetic counselors and dieticians. This team of exceptional experts works collaboratively to customize a preventive plan to drive the best possible outcome.
