Banner Health CEO recognized on ‘100 Most Influential People in Healthcare’ list

Peter Fine now a ten-time honoree by Modern Healthcare

PHOENIX (Dec. 5, 2022) – Modern Healthcare magazine has released its 2022 list of the '100 Most Influential People in Healthcare,' recognizing Banner Health CEO Peter Fine on the list for a 10th year.

This prestigious recognition acknowledges and honors individuals deemed by their peers and senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential individuals in the industry, in terms of leadership and impact.

Fine has been Banner Health’s top executive for 22 years, during which he has greatly expanded Banner to become a highly integrated health system and increased its reach and influence in the southwestern states it serves and increasingly beyond that region. Under Fine’s leadership, Banner has become one of the largest secular nonprofit health care organizations in the nation and a forward-looking workplace, offering competitive compensation, a flexible work environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels.

"Like other health systems, Banner has worked hard this year to rebound from the turbulence of the past few years caused by the pandemic,” said Fine. “I am honored to receive this recognition; however, I cannot speak highly enough of my colleagues, who have showed ingenuity, perseverance and resilience as we move beyond the pandemic and refocus on delivering easy and accessible health care for those we serve.”

Fine has been a dynamic chief executive, leading Banner’s transition from fee-for-service revenue to value-based care. He has also made the system’s workforce a priority as the pandemic has taken its toll on health care workers, guiding Banner to raise its compensation and benefits, expand educational assistance, training, diversity and inclusion and resources for wellbeing and mental health.

Fine ranks No. 52 among the 2022 list of '100 Most Influential People in Healthcare.' The complete ranking is available in this week’s issue of Modern Healthcare magazine, and profiles of the honorees are available at https://www.modernhealthcare.com/awards/100-most-influential-people-healthcare-2022.
