Banner Health supplier diversity program receives awards

PHOENIX (Dec. 6, 2023) – Banner Health was recognized by the Pacific Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (PSWMSDC) with two awards at The Power of 30 Anniversary Gala. The awards include 2023 Corporate Spend – Regional and 2023 Corporate Total MBE Spend. These awards recognize Banner’s commitment and contributions to supplier diversity and inclusion and the economic development of the communities we serve.

This is the second time Banner has been recognized by the PSWMSDC, receiving the 2022 Top MBE Spend – Regional award.

Banner Health’s supplier diversity program was established in 2022 and formally launched in 2023. During the past two years, Supply Chain Services and the Supplier Diversity Council have partnered to develop the foundation for a strong and sustainable program, including:

  • Launching the Banner Health supplier portal
  • Recruiting a dedicated Supplier Diversity Program manager to lead the program
  • Becoming a Corporate Member of the Pacific Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (PSWMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and Women’s Business Enterprise Council – West (WBEC-West)
  • Joining the Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) and signing the Impact Purchasing Commitment, pledging to more than double our diverse spend and achieve other ESG goals by FY2025.
