PHOENIX (Dec. 4, 2023) – Peter S. Fine, CEO of Banner Health, has again been named to Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. The 2023 ranking marks his 10th consecutive year of inclusion in this distinguished group.
This recognition program acknowledges and honors individuals deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the industry’s most influential figures in leadership and impact.
Since joining Banner as its top executive 23 years ago, Peter Fine has led the Phoenix-based system’s expansion across six southwestern states and its growing influence beyond the region. Under his guidance, Banner is making its mission – to make healthcare easier, so life can be better – a reality for its patients and team members.
“It is not the work of an individual but of a truly exceptional team that repeatedly earns this level of recognition. This honor belongs to all of Banner – our exceptional team members who make us the innovative, mission-driven, people-focused organization that we are,” said Fine. “Our team members are the heart of Banner Health and the keys to our real-life impact on making life better for our patients.”
Fine has guided Banner to become one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems, with a fully integrated network of locations beyond its hospitals to bring care closer to communities. Its expanding digital access touchpoints streamline administrative interactions for customers. He has also led Banner’s successful move into providing health plans, hastening its transition from fee-for-service revenue to value-based care with income based on covered lives and a focus on keeping people healthy. His leadership has also brought regional and national recognition of Banner as a great place to work – a forward-thinking organization that actively supports its team members and has made diversity, equity and inclusion a central pillar of its culture.
Fine is listed at number 93 on the 2023 list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. The complete ranking was published in the Dec. 4 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine, and profiles of all honorees are online at ModernHealthcare.com/100MostInfluential.
