Banner Health launches Supplier Diversity Program

Ensures health care chain partners with the most talented, innovative suppliers

MESA, Ariz. (Oct.5, 2023) – Banner Health has launched its Supplier Diversity Program at a community event attended by leaders of the diverse business community. The event provided an opportunity to learn more about Banner Health, the Supplier Diversity Program, and meet the individuals at Banner responsible for the leadership, support, and day-to-day operations of the program.

“Supplier diversity and inclusion in the sourcing process ensures we can partner with the most talented, innovative, experienced, and cost-competitive suppliers available,” said Doug Bowen, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer.

The Supplier Diversity Program lowers barriers to entry and connects qualified diverse suppliers to business opportunities with Banner Health. This includes participation in Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contractor engagements, and other procurement opportunities.

Community leaders representing thousands of diverse suppliers within Banner’s service area attended the event to support Banner’s efforts, meet the Supplier Diversity Council, and learn how their organizations can partner with Banner to leverage potential procurement opportunites for their membership. These opportunities exceeded $15 Million in 2022 and are projected to surpass that number in 2023.
