CASPER, Wyo. (May 3, 2025) – Banner Wyoming Medical Center again played host to its annual "Spring Into Safety" event to celebrate kids and help families learn simple ways to keep children safe. The event, which has been a community tradition since 1994, took place on May 3 at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming.
The free community event featured distribution of bike helmets and life jackets, along with valuable safety information covering a wide range of topics including gun safety, water safety, pharmaceutical safety, car and booster seat guidance, bike safety, fire prevention, carbon monoxide awareness and more. Attendees also participated in several raffle drawings for children's items, including a bicycle.
"Preventable injuries are the number one killer of kids in the United States," said Heather McDonald, RN, Banner Wyoming Medical Center's trauma outreach coordinator. "Our Spring Into Safety event provides an important opportunity to raise awareness and provide resources that help celebrate kids, prevent injuries and save lives."
Banner Wyoming Medical Center extends its gratitude to the sponsors who have helped make this annual event a success, including Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming, First Interstate Bank, Jonah Bank of Wyoming and Hilltop Bank.
