Julie Ann Alvarado-Dubek was named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Banner Health in February 2022. In this role she leads all human resource functions and systems for Phoenix-based Banner Health, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health care organizations operating 30 hospitals and other services in six states. Banner is Arizona’s largest private employer with over 50,000 employees.
Julie Ann joined Banner Health in 2011 as Senior Director of Benefits. She was named Vice President for Total Rewards and HR Shared Services in 2013 and Senior Vice President for Total Rewards and HR Operations in 2021. Prior to Banner Health, Julie Ann held diverse roles as an HR executive at Fender Musical Instruments, Freescale Semiconductor, and Motorola.
At Banner Health, Julie Ann drove the transformation of the HR service delivery model including progressive total reward strategies, centralization of HR functions, and the modernization of HR technology through the 2020 implementation of MyHR|Workday. She’s also a proud sponsor of Banner’s Women @ Banner Team Member Resource Group and is the champion of our award-winning My Well-Being program. Throughout the pandemic Julie Ann and her team spearheaded innovative practices, benefit offerings and compensation strategies in support of Banner team members.
Julie Ann is an active member of the W.P. Carey School of Business Dean’s Council at Arizona State University. She is a member of both the Management Industry Advisory Board at Northern Arizona University and 100+ Women Who Care, Valley of the Sun Philanthropy Group. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Arizona State University, a Certificate of Global Leadership from Thunderbird School of Global Management and will complete her Master of Science degree in 2022 in Organizational Leadership at Arizona State University.
