MEDIA ADVISORY: Santa Claus to visit Diamond Children's via BannerAir

Media invited to cover Santa’s arrival via helicopter and toy distribution to patients

TUCSON (Dec. 8, 2023) – The pediatric patients hospitalized at Diamond Children’s Medical Center will receive a visit from Santa Claus via BannerAir on Saturday, December 9 at 11 a.m.

What: Media are invited to cover the visit, arrival of Santa on the helipad and interview team members and patients during the gift distribution at the hospital.

When: Saturday, December 9 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Where: Diamond Children’s Medical Center 1625 N. Campbell Ave., 85719. Park in the circular drive-in at the foot of the former Diamond Children’s main entrance, next to the parking garage. 

Why:  It is the season of giving and for patients at Diamond Children’s, it is the time of year that Banner counts on community support to donate gift cards or toys that will stock the Diamond Children toy supply closets year-round. The BannerAir Santa Claus visit will give the hospitalized children a moment of joy and lift their spirits during their hospital stay while raising awareness about the importance of the community’s generosity in donating toys, games, books and entertainment for our patients.

BannerAir is a hospital-based air ambulance medical transport program in Arizona providing 24/7 critical and lifesaving air medical services throughout the state. BannerAir teams are comprised of highly trained registered nurses and certified emergency paramedics; each with many years of high acuity experience and specialty training in multiple unique patient populations.
