About Banner Network Southern Arizona

Banner Health is dedicated to making health care easier, so life can be better. This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do, even when it comes to introducing a new model for a physician network. We are excited to join with practices in Southern Arizona to carry out our mission to transform health care for the benefit of the communities we serve.

Local physician leadership determines best practices for patient care

We understand that local physicians know how to best care for their patients. Our network will be founded on a board structure that facilitates input to determine the best quality of care for patients and set standards of care for all to follow. Quality of care also influences the amount of any shared savings awarded to network practices. Local leadership is key to the success of the network.

A focus on coordination of care across the continuum

BNSA functions as an ACO and is designed provide a highly coordinated patient care experience for beneficiaries of government and provide sector insurance plans in southern Arizona. Primary care providers lead the team in care for their patients with results delivered in a timely manner through electronic health records.

A dedicated support team for a successful practice

Our independent providers do not have to go it alone. A team of caring experts will come alongside your practice to deliver specialized training and other information at your disposal. You’ll have a team, including a medical director, provider relations, quality, coding and pharmacy, to support your practice and help you streamline workflows and improve efficiencies. Your team is available to assist you with any questions or issues that might be unique to your practice. Quarterly online meetings allow for additional training and timely updates on pressing issues and concerns.

Technology tools that make patient care easier

Banner has adopted tools to make caring for patients easier and more efficient. For example, Innovaccer’s InNote and InGraph tools give you a complete view of your patient while they are in your office, keeping records and documentation current. They work alongside your electronic health record platform to earn higher quality scores and increase the opportunity to earn shared savings.

Demonstrated financial success in this quality-based payment model

Using the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model, Banner Health Network (BHN), our partner Banner ACO network, has delivered on the promise of high-quality care at a lower cost for more than 5 years. In 2019, BHN awarded $2.2 million in shared savings to network providers who qualified by achieving physician scorecard benchmarks.

Community is at the heart of what we do
