Hoyt Skabelund was named CEO of Banner Payson Medical Center in November 2020. Prior to that he was the CEO of Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, Banner McKee Medical Center and Banner North Colorado Medical Center. He also served as CEO of Sterling Regional MedCenter and Division CEO for Banner Health’s Rural Hospitals, a role he assumed in 2017.
Skabelund started with Banner at Banner Churchill Community Hospital in 2014. He came to Banner from Clovis, New Mexico, where he served as administrator for Plains Regional Medical Center, part of Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Prior to that, Skabelund held administrator positions at Socorro General Hospital in Socorro, New Mexico, and Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
Skabelund also has extensive experience in health information management. A certified management accountant, he holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utah State University. In addition, he has a master’s in health care administration and a master’s in business administration from the University of Minnesota.
